If you were to ask my brothers opinion of how I dress you would be guaranteed the response of ‘too manly’ or ‘grandma’. So you can only imagine my determination to ensure these bad boys made it to my wardrobe pronto.

Budapest Travel Diary
If you follow me on instagram you may have seen a photo I posted around Christmas time of a photoshopped snap of me and Matt in Budapest. So these are the ventures of an amazing Christmas present.
The weather was absolutely freezing but bearable, apparently not as cold as it usual as their open air ice rink wasn’t open due to ‘warmer weather conditions’. I cannot begin to express how stunning the Hungarian wines are! They remain relatively undiscovered aside from the desert wine Tokaji. Try Doblo in the old jewish district, with its open brick walls and cave- like feel this place has a real wine cellar vibe about it. There are over 100 carefully selected wines to choose from which is incredibly overwhelming at first. The staff truly know their stuff and share their knowledge to make sure you get a cracking wine to suit your taste, and trust me I’m fussy about Chardonnay!
We pretty much walked everywhere and I think this is a must in any city to truly take it all in. We visited the Széchenyi Thermal Baths and got royally screwed over as we must have looked completely lost and ended up paying a fortune for something totally unnecessary so bare that in mind if you visit! Just read signs and ignore help. Despite that, they are amazing. We went on a Saturday and the place was heaving with locals spending their weekend soaking and relaxing. ( Topshop bikini )
You can catch a breathtaking view of the Parliament from the Royal Palace – Castle Hill. It’s well worth the walk (not that we walked it! We were in a massive rush to get up there before sunset.) The views were spine-tingling. This picturesque area is located in the heart of medieval Budapest defined by cobblestone streets, lovely squares and narrow alleys.
Szent István Bazilika – Make sure you take the stairs to the top, all 364 of them! You may feel a little queazy once you reach the top but its fab, you get to see the structure of the big dome from the inside, it really is worth it. This has to be my favourite church visited so far.

Fields Of Gold
( River Island dress, Staring At Stars Kimono, Dune heels, Vintage cuff & rings, Urban Outfitters necklace, Portabello Market hat )
Em behind the lens, captured these gorgeous shots as we mooched about in the fields. It’s my favourite time of year when the country fields are suddenly blanketed with such vibrant stunning colour. All I want to do is prance about and listen to the birds sing with not a care in the world. This is one of my favourite shoots so far. The print and colour of this kimono is gorgeous. It will definitely be worn to death throughout summer and holidays!

DAY FIVE
(Zara shirt & boots Topshop jeans & necklace)
I cannot believe how quick this week has gone! Im so happy to have had the opportunity to spend a week in New Looks head office, it’s been a real pleasure. I feel like I’ve learned a lot in a small space of time which makes it a shame that I couldn’t stay for the whole two weeks. Amsterdam is calling! Me and my sister are flying on Monday which couldn’t have come around at a better time. I’m in much need of a break and can’t wait. Also… Sorry for the poor quality photos recently. Unfortunately it’s the best my faithful iPhone can provide!

DAY FOUR
(Topshop dress, Zara top, Office boots Vintage bag & coat )
I’ve come to the conclusion that it takes approximately 3 days until you can confidently say you know your way around and what’s expected of you in a work placement ( maybe thats just me! ) . There was a meeting for all departments this morning with a presentation of all the trends from the catwalk for the teams AW13/14 collections. I’m loving the upcoming trends there is a clear direction of where it’s going with powerful bold colours and interesting silhouettes. The main two influences were Biker grunge & sporty. Tres exciting!
New Look HQ
DAY TWO
( H&M polo, Topshop skirt & necklace, Zara cardigan, River Island pumps, Vintage coat & bag, Gifted rings )
Today was quite different I spent most of the day at my desk re-instating and re-approving PO’s, maintaining orders and doing the desk amends which is a sloooow process but a learning one all the same. The mood board pictured above I was asked to put together for a summary of what dresses are trending this week in the other high street brands. I’m thoroughly enjoying this weeks experience and am tickled every day by how incredibly serious the army troops of the London commuters are!
Work placement
DAY ONE
I’m spending this week at New Look HQ assisting the buyer who’s in charge of dresses.
First thing I always stress about is my bag!! Have I got everything I might need?
Notepad and pens – you never know when you might need to take notes or to do lists.
aquaphor balm – when battling with office heating this keeps my lips soft and moisturised.
bed head hairspray – simply unbeatable
umbrella – it’s England after all!
I opted for smart casual and was very thankful I didn’t go uber smart as most of the girls in the office were pretty laid back. Some wore converse and a tee, others had gone all out in whopping heels! Quite a diverse office.
( Topshop shirt, jumper, necklace & coat, Zara trousers, Carvela boots, H&M rings, Camden Market bag Vintage scarf )
A great experience all in all, met some lovely helpful people and was running around like a headless chicken most of the day!
